Empyrium是来自德国的乐队，作为著名黑暗厂牌 Prophecy 的创始乐队，任何文字都不足以形容 Empyrium 音乐的忧伤，它是生命的忧伤，必然而无可挽回，它是超越生命的忧伤，如森林的精灵，静静飘摇，遍经千年轮回。
　　
　　对于这样一支乐队的风格，有人说他们是森林金属，有人说他们是厄运金属，也有人说他们是忧郁金属。但在音乐面前这些所谓的风格定义都是毫无意义的，我们所需要做的只是以一颗纯粹的心去聆听。
　　
　　本曲《The Ensemble of Silence》选自 Empyrium的第二张专辑《Songs Of Moors & Misty Fields》，作为专辑的结束曲，全曲始终笼罩着一种悲怆的情绪，伤感而优美，在九分多钟的时间里，Empyrium 带给你的也许是正在流逝的记忆，一场没有字幕的黑白老电影；也许是沉寂暗夜里的独自反省，对内心的自我拷问；也许，是物逝人非后的一行浑浊泪水…
　　
　　贯穿全曲的木吉它伴奏清澈如水，哀鸣的笛子宛如面对逝者时的哭泣，忧郁的情绪从始至终地在他们的音乐中流淌，流在每个听者的血脉之中。即使是在演唱黑嗓时也丝毫没有邪恶的感觉，悲痛之声穿过层层交错气势磅礴的重型失真吉他，犹如失去爱人时万念俱灰的悲痛，让人心酸。
