丹佛格柏(DAN FOGELBERG)，是很多民歌愛好者喜愛的藝人，他的風格橫跨民謠、搖滾和鄉村，不論是歌曲的內容或是音樂的表現，都極為精緻、而且充滿了詩意。1951年八月十三日出生於伊利諾州的他，自幼跟隨熱愛鄉村音樂的祖父學習滑音吉他，後來又潛修鋼琴等多種樂器、以及作曲的技巧。1971年，他中斷了主修美術的大學課程，毅然前往加州投身民歌界，受到了一些前輩們的賞識，並曾經應邀隨同老牌民謠搖滾巨星范莫理森（Van Morrison） 巡迴演出。不久，他遷居鄉村音樂首都納許維
許爾，在1972年獲得哥倫比亞唱片的合約，在一些民謠搖滾好手如羅傑麥魁恩 （Roger McGuinn）、傑克森布朗（Jackson Browne）和喬華（Joe Walsh）等人的助陣之下，推出了相當溫和而富有鄉村色彩的首張專輯 「Home Free」 ，可惜在商業上並不太成功，公司甚至跟他解約，他只好重拾為人伴奏的工作。
