1988年以一首轻快的舞曲《Never Gonna Give You Up》（永不放弃你）夺下全美单曲榜双周冠军，一举成名的英伦男歌手Rick Astley，以他浑厚磁性的独特嗓音，纯真的笑容及歌曲流畅悦耳的优美旋律而走红于国际歌坛。这首作品成为当年英国销售最好的单曲，同时也在包括美国、澳洲、德国等15个国家得到排行冠军
Rick Astley于1966年2月6日出生于英格兰的沃瑞屯。在1984年Rick Astley加入骚灵乐队FBI成为其主唱之首，他曾是个名叫GiveWay的地方性乐队的鼓手。1985年他被著名制作人Pete Wate-rman发掘，并且在Wat[wiki]ERM[/wiki]an的PWL公司中寻求发展。
　　经过两年的艰苦磨练，1987年他凭藉一首《Never Gonna Give You Up》(永不放弃你)取得巨大成功。在短短的几个月里，它在全英排行榜上连创佳绩。随后进军美国，也同样获得成功。
