《On a Slow Boat to China》是四十年代由Frank Loesser作词作曲的swing music。歌名来源于牌桌上的俚语，常常用来奚落打牌总输的人，比如 "If I could get you on a slow boat to China, I'd get rich." 然而Frank Loesser却巧妙地把这句话转化为一个浪漫的爱情场景。他写了十个不同的版本，最后在1947年秋天确定了最终版本并由三个不同的乐队Kay Kyser, Benny Goodman and Freddy Martin演绎了这首歌，在1948年秋天Kay Kyser(bandleader) 的乐队由 Harry Babbitt and Gloria Wood 演唱的《On a Slow Boat to China》登上了BILLBOARD榜单第二名。
